“In Los Angeles, you’re nothing without a car.” Who said that? I did.
It’s the reason why I didn’t connect with the city as much on my first visit, and why on my second trip there, I saw so much more.
It was also a real treat to stay at ‘The Charlie’ in West Hollywood, which was once Charlie Chaplin’s home, made up of a number of tiny bungalows that used to be occupied by his up-and-coming actor friends (Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis and Clark Gable to name but a few).
